Announcement from Revd Lynn Power
After nearly 10 years in the parish and Treloar’s, Lynn has decided to retire. She has taken this decision earlier than expected as she has been struggling with extreme dry eye since June. She led her last services in Beech and Chawton last Sunday and she would like to thank all those who have supported her in her ministry. Pop Up Carols on a Green Space Near you is back for another year!
We are really excited to be joint hosting this fun event again along with the Butts and the Harvest Church. Come and sing some traditional carols on a green space near you bewteen 9th and 23rd December.
All Souls Service Sunday 3rd November 4pm
All Souls Service On Sunday 3rd November at 4pm in St Lawrence Church we will hold this poignant annual service at which we remember those who have recently died. We invite families who have had funerals led by our Ministry Team and everyone else is very welcome to attend. We will include names in a list for prayer and if you wish to add any then do please let us know emailing the Parish Office – office@potr-alton.co.uk
Christmas Unlocked – Pre event prayer meetings
Christmas Unlocked “My chains are gone: I’ve been set free.” Pray for Christmas Unlocked, an Alton POTR area-wide event at the Maltings on Wednesday 4th December 2024 at 7.30pm. It will include carols and readings and a talk by an internationally recognised speaker, Canon J.John, concluding with an invitation to follow Christ. Pray for anointing for J.John. Step Back August – Services, groups and Parish Office Opening Hours over the summer
Teddies in St Lawrence is now on holiday until 9th September. Teddies in Holy Rood will continue until 7th August and will then be on holiday until 4th September. Morning Prayer on Facebook Live is now on holiday until Monday 2nd September. Lighthouse and Glow are on holiday until September. The Parish Office will be open Monday to Wednesdays 9am – 12pm throughout the summer. Ellie will be working from home on Thursdays and Fridays and will respond to emails.
