Ladies’ Meet and Eat

Ladies’ Meet and Eat

A social group for ladies from the churches in town. The proposal is to meet four times this year on the 4th March, 3rd June, 2nd September and 2nd December. The evening gives us the chance to chat with people we don’t get to see very often and to meet new friends and to try out new activities too. In the summer we go on short walks before we share a meal. In the winter we enjoy a range of different speakers and craft opportunities.

Please do chat to Kathy Norkett at All Saints, Sarah Neish at Beech, Gill Tull at Holybourne, Elspeth Mackeggie Gurney and Alison Parr at St. Lawrence about the group. If you would like to be added to the distribution list or need any further information just email Lyn Baines at meetandeat@btinternet.com

Here are some pictures from our last Meet and Eat held on 4th March ‘Flower Arranging’. Eighteen of the group had an enjoyable evening with Trina Walker (Volunteer at Resurrection Furniture shop and self taught florist). Trina made a lovely floral nest with some beautiful and unusual flowers. We then had the opportunity to make our own. We were all very pleased with the results!

Here are pictures of our November event enjoying Christmas craft. It was great fun!

At our meeting in August Sue Dell kindly walked us around the garden at Jane Austen’s house and gave a ten minute presentation.

In June we visited the Mill Cottage Farm and had a picnic at the vicarge garden. Thank you Gordon and Ruth for having us!

Do come along, whether or not you have been before; you would be most welcome. Small charge of £3 to cover costs. If you would like to come along please contact Lyn Baines on meetandeat@btinternet.com
