On 29th December people met together for food and fellowship in the Parish
Centre. There was a fabulous spread with sandwiches, sausage rolls, scones,
jam and cream, an amazing selection of cakes and a wonderful Christmas cake,
laced with brandy, made by Tim Codling.
Guests were greeted with a glass of fizz and were then treated to a selection of
songs by Robin Kemp, with everyone joining in with the singing. Tea followed
with plenty of chat to accompany it. Everyone enjoyed the food and some
“doggy bags” were made up for guests to take home.
This was a GAP event and people from both Alton Methodist church and POTR
participated. There were many helpers, baking, preparing food, decorating the
hall, serving, washing up and transporting guests. I think the helpers enjoyed it
as much as the guests!
Huge thanks to all those who worked so tirelessly to make this such an
enjoyable and delicious afternoon.
