Bruce Nicole with his wife Jane, moved to Alton in the middle of lockdown in the spring of 2020, following his retirement as the Vicar of St Michael’s Camberley for 25 years. Bruce and Jane have two daughters and four grandchildren, the eldest of whom now lives with Bruce and Jane. Whilst in Vicar mode in Camberley, Bruce enjoyed serving as Chaplain to the Air Cadets, and he has been pleased to pick up this interest by now serving as Chaplain to the Alton Air Cadets. Bruce also serves as a part-time Chaplain at Frimley Park Hospital. Bruce was born in the Bahamas, and brought up in Guernsey, before moving to England to continue his banking career with Midland Bank as it then was (HSBC now). Bruce is a keen walker, having done two long walks which include walking the Northern Route to Santiago de Compostela, and also a fundraising walk from Camberley to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. Since moving to Alton, and living in a bungalow in full view of passers by, Bruce has been trying to develop enthusiasm for gardening – this remains an ongoing project!
