The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, has launched a free national phone line as a simple new way to bring worship and prayer into people’s homes while church buildings are closed because of the coronavirus. Daily Hope offers music, prayers and reflections as well as full worship services from the Church of England at the end of a telephone line. The line is available 24 hours a day on 0800 804 8044. Amazing support for the Alton Foodbank
The generous people of our parish have raised a staggering £1734.50 over one weekend for the Alton Foodbank. Wow! An overwhelming amount and completely overshot the target set of £300. Thank you so much! The Alton Foodbank is giving vital support to the people of Alton during this difficult time. They are giving out a tonne of food a week. Alton Foodbank Update
Alton Foodbank are continuing to work hard to keep families in Alton fed. They are currently doing “drop off” parcels rather than working through the distribution centre. 53 families were helped last week. Any food donations (except sardines please) are welcome, especially pasta, UHT milk and bars of chocolate (not sweets). Please use the drop off boxes at Waitrose or Sainsburys . Many thanks
