Notice from the Futures Group

Our planning as the Futures Group has been to hold in-person conversations with the worshipping community of the Parish, which, of course, have been delayed due to the lockdowns. With the easing of restrictions, we are now able to hold these conversations and are proposing to do so in each of our church buildings on the following dates, after a shortened service. ACAN – The Slow Fashion Revolution

ACAN is inviting everyone to The Slow Fashion Revolution – This event is about how we can change our relationship with clothes. In our consumer society, bombarded with adverts, we accumulate crazy amounts of clothes.  But it doesn’t make us any happier.  More stuff just adds to our stress levels.  And the planet is suffering from “too much stuff syndrome” too. Fillup – Eco Church interview with Fillup owner Louise Bagnall

Our article in February ‘It’s a Wrap’ focussed on packaging and the vast amount of waste that can be produced from packaging and postage/delivery. As we go through Holy Week why not make an Easter Garden? Let us show the story of Easter by displaying one outside our homes or maybe something in your window. Good Friday Scavenger Hunt

We are hosting a Good Friday Scavenger Hunt – why not go for a walk and follow the Easter Story and collect some  things along the way? You will need this booklet which tells the story and gives the instructions and come and collect your prize from either St Lawrence Churchyard or Holybourne Churchyard between 2 and 4pm. Our churches are opening for Public Worship from 29th March!

We are pleased to announce that we will be holding public worship services for Holy week and Easter and beyond. We expect these services to be popular. From 8th March Churches reopening for Individual Private Prayer!

I am sure you will all be pleased that from Monday 8th March we shall be reopening the churches for individual private prayer. We will revert to the pattern from before: All Saints Church – Monday 2-4pm & Friday 10am-12noon St Lawrence Church – Tuesday 2-4pm & Saturday 10am-12noon Church of the Holy Rood – Wednesday 10am-12noon & Saturday 2-4pm St Peter’s Church – Thursday 2-4pm
