Greeting Cards across the POTR – continuing throughout the year!
Greetings Cards – thank you for all the Christmas cards that were donated for recycling. Recycling Greetings cards will continue throughout the year – there will be a box in each church so please place your cards in these.
Alton Foodbank – update
In the last 3 months of 2019 the foodbank handled 162 vouchers (an increase of 51% on 2018) and fed 502 people (an increase of 59% on 2018). In the same period we are thankful for very generous donations to meet this need. Currently we need long life milk and orange and apple juice. Chocolate bars are also very much appreciated. Peter
CYC Quiz winner and answers revealed!

Parenting for Faith – Volunteers needed!
This year we would like to run a course called Parenting for Faith which is designed to enable parents and children to talk about faith at home. The course will take place later this year during the summer months and I would like volunteers to help in the following ways: Greeters/refreshments; group leaders to lead discussions between and after the video tutorials; babysitters to enable those parents to be able to come to the sessions. Traidcraft stall after the 10.30am service at St Lawrence this Sunday
It’s the first Traidcraft Stall of the year! As a reminder, the Traidcraft stall will be at St Lawrence church every second Sunday of the month after the 10.30am service.

The Christmas Tree Festival
The Christmas Tree Festival was a great success. 77 trees decorated St Lawrence Church and the event raised £1183.90 to be shared between Parkinsons UK and the Covenant Training and Youth Choir. Thank you to Elaine Cook and all the wonderful helpers. And thank you for all the beautiful music from the organ and choirs that played this weekend.
£176.20 for the Children’s Society!
What a lovely Christingle Service we had. The Church looked glorious lit up by candles and christmas tree lights. The children loved the songs and of course the sweets. And we raised a fabulous £176.20 for the Children’s Society. Thank you everyone and thank you to the team who made the Christingles and helped at the Service.

Christmas Produce and Gift Table at the Christmas Tree Festival
Releasing your creative skills….we have been allocated a small area amidst all the lovely Christmas trees. I am sending out a plea for Chutney, marmalade, jams, Christmas cakes, biscuits, sweets and small Table decorations or handmade gifts for Christmas. Please package and label produce with all the ingredients. I will collect or please drop off at St Lawrence church on Friday 6th or first thing Saturday morning. Enjoy Carol Singing?
We are planning to go Carol Singing at 3 pm on 16th December on the Wootey/Manor Estate. The aim is to sing, offer free mince pies and hand out information about the Christmas services.
