Good Friday Scavenger Hunt

We are hosting a Good Friday Scavenger Hunt – why not go for a walk and follow the Easter Story and collect some  things along the way? You will need this booklet which tells the story and gives the instructions and come and collect your prize from either St Lawrence Churchyard or Holybourne Churchyard between 2 and 4pm. New Fresh Start Course from Christians Aginst Poverty

For some people, Lockdown has meant they spend more time and money on a life-controlling habit such as smoking, gambling, over-eating, internet addiction, online shopping,  drinking, or taking drugs.  Fresh Start helps you tackle such a habit.  It’s an 8-week course pioneered by Christians Against Poverty (CAP), based on principles from the Bible and the 12-steps-of-recovery process, backed by 1-to-1 coaching and a support group of others wanting to tackle their dependencies.  It’s free and completely confidential.  For more information, see www.capfreshstart.org. Our churches are opening for Public Worship from 29th March!

We are pleased to announce that we will be holding public worship services for Holy week and Easter and beyond. We expect these services to be popular. From 8th March Churches reopening for Individual Private Prayer!

I am sure you will all be pleased that from Monday 8th March we shall be reopening the churches for individual private prayer. We will revert to the pattern from before: All Saints Church – Monday 2-4pm & Friday 10am-12noon St Lawrence Church – Tuesday 2-4pm & Saturday 10am-12noon Church of the Holy Rood – Wednesday 10am-12noon & Saturday 2-4pm St Peter’s Church – Thursday 2-4pm

Cycle Racks at St Lawrence Church

So now there is no excuse for not cycling to St Lawrence Church in Alton. We are really pleased that these cycle racks have been installed. Be great to see them being used in the future. Eco Church have managed, despite Covid restrictions, to get these put in place. Now Eco Church hope to extend this intiatove to our other churches.

Update from the Alton Foodbank

The foodbank has been very busy adapting to the new lockdown and ensuring that we support families in need while keeping all our volunteers safe. We are now operating a home delivery service and have temporarily closed our premises in Market Square. Demand is increasing and we are distributing about 750kg of food a week. In addition, we have started a new service offering families a home delivery of fresh fruit and vegetables that is delivered by Get Fresh & Fruity in Lasham. Our finances remain…
